The
following rules are necessary to complete CPVA
events in a timely manner. |
|
|
-
CPVA events will now begin at 7:30 a.m. All teams
in men's and women's divisions need to check in by
7:30 and be ready to start the first matches.
First matches will have a ten minute warm up
period.
|
-
Top seeds will referee the first matches. These
referees will be announced with the first games of
the day. Losers of a match will referee the
following match on the court where they lost. If a
team is not ready to referee at the end of the
warm up period that team will lose one point in
their next match per each minute they aren't ready
to referee. These points will carry over to future
events if a team is out of the tournament for the
day.
|
-
Winner's bracket matches have a five minute
warm-up period. Loser's bracket matches have a
three minute warm up period. Teams that aren't
ready to begin after the warm-up period will
lose one point per each minute they aren't ready
to begin. This countdown continues until the game
or match is concluded by points or a team begins
play.
|
-
Teams should check the bracket and know when
they're up. Teams should be ready to step on the
court when announced.
|
- An
event with 16 or fewer teams will be match play (2
of 3 games to 21) in the winner's bracket and one
game to 25 in the losers bracket. In events with
more than 16 teams, any pigtail match-ups that
feed the main bracket will be played one game to
25.
|
-
The event may change the scoring structure at
anytime to assure players a timely finish. This
may include changing games to 21 points or even 15
points.
